At Emmanuel we take the need for our church to be accessible to all seriously, this includes our website. Plenty of research and work has been done in recent years to improve the accessibility of the World Wide Web and we have taken this into consideration in the design of our site. In order to make the site as accessible as possible to all and to meet the standards that the World Wide Web consortium (W3C) have set out we have designed the site carefully.

We hope our design is as usable as possible for those using standard web browsers such as Firefox, Internet Explorer etc as well as anyone using a screen reader to use the internet. We have done the following:

• Made our titles as clear as possible
• Set out our articles clearly and as simply as possible
• Given the site a clean and clear appearance
• Removed as many tables as possible from the design (this makes it work better with screen readers)
• Continue to monitor the site and review comments made by users.
